I joined New Power Partners in August 2022 as the Director of Project Management and Engineering in Offshore Wind. Based in my home office in the picturesque southwest of England, I lead a dynamic team of professionals working on groundbreaking projects across the globe.
One of the most exciting aspects of my role is that no two days are alike. Each day brings a fresh set of challenges and opportunities, whether it’s responding to new client requests, meeting with suppliers, recruiting top talent, or collaborating with my team to ensure we deliver excellence to our clients. The autonomy I enjoy allows me to lead with my unique style, fostering an environment where my team can thrive.
Empowering Global Early-Stage Offshore Wind Projects with Expertise and Project Management
New Power Partners is at the forefront of several early-stage projects in offshore wind development. Our roles vary across projects, often involving senior positions such as Package Management, Engineering, or leadership roles like EPCI Director or Engineering Director. We seamlessly integrate into our client’s teams, providing world-class expertise and an external perspective that enhances their internal methodologies. At the conclusion of each engagement, we strive to develop new opportunities, frequently elevating our team members to more senior roles.
Since joining, I’ve immersed myself in both short- and long-term projects. The rapid pace of getting up to speed on the specifics of each project is invigorating. I relish the diverse approaches we take to overcome challenges, as they continuously sharpen my skills. Recently, I’ve been involved in Technical Due Diligence, which adds the intriguing layer of identifying missing data and assessing its potential impact on project development.
Shaping the Future: Mentoring Tomorrow’s Project Managers in Renewable Energy
One of the most rewarding parts of my job is mentoring the next generation of talent through our Graduate Programme. Each year, we welcome a cohort of new entrants and focus on building their competencies and skill sets. Gradually, we introduce these young talents to client-facing roles, starting them in junior positions to nurture them into future Project Managers and Engineers. The overwhelming response to our 2024 intake, with over 800 applications, speaks volumes about the program’s appeal and the industry’s growing interest. It fills me with immense pride.
