Since I – Søren Grøn – joined New Power Partners in February 2020 I have been working as a WTG Package Manager in various projects around the world.
As WTG Package Manager, I have the overall responsibility for all aspects related to the (wind turbine generator) WTG within the given project. This means that you can be working on any given part of a project from the early development phase until the final construction of the wind farm is done and you will be in charge of managing all internal as well as external suppliers and other stakeholders.
WTG Package Manager on the Codling Wind Park Project
Since August 2022, I have been working on the Codling Wind Park project which is an Irish offshore project currently in the development phase progressing to FID (Final Investment Decision) within the coming years.
On that project, I am heading the Codling project WTG Team as WTG Package Manager focusing on scoping and negotiating the contracts for WTG supply and installation suitable for the Codling project. Another important task of mine is also to manage the team of people and make sure they thrive and are satisfied in the team.
In my opinion, one of the most interesting tasks is to work in the development phase of an offshore wind project where it is important to work closely with other project team members to understand and scope solutions for the optimal project base case, this also involves of any opportunities to identify if they can be a gain for the project as well as identifying major risks and ensure they are managed correctly.
Well-connected New Power Partners team despite a lot of traveling
As I am working on the Codling project, I am often traveling to Ireland or other countries in Europe to meet with the Codling project team as well as possible suppliers. When I am not traveling, I am working from home or from one of our offices in Denmark.
New Power Partners has grown substantially since I joined, but I still feel our team is a very well-connected team – somehow a small family. So, although I work in a customer project organization my New Power Partners colleagues are never far away and always ready for a chat.
Trust and encouragement as important values on the journey
New Power Partners live and exist of its employees. The management is creating the frame for employees to have interesting tasks and to work on interesting projects.
I feel trusted and encouraged, and I like that I am expected to take ownership and act accountable as they are important values to me. It is this foundation that New Power Partners is built upon.
What I appreciate about working in New Power Partners is that I am a part of an interesting company, which is on an exciting journey within renewable energy for the foreseeable future.
New Power Partners has grown fast in the last years and as it is well-managed, it will be influential within the chosen focus areas during the years to come. And I cannot wait to continue to be a part of this exciting journey.
