Being a Graduate at New Power Partners has been an exhilarating and rewarding experience. From the moment I joined the company, I felt welcomed and valued, with ample opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The best part about being a Graduate here has been the company’s commitment to nurturing talent. I was provided with a comprehensive mentorship, ensuring that I felt well-equipped to contribute to the team from day one. Moreover, the culture of openness and collaboration made it easy to approach colleagues and managers with questions and ideas.
For the initial two months as a Graduate, my working tasks varied from supporting Green Transition projects in calculating GHG impact and carrying out independent micro-siting calculations to assisting senior team members with project management tasks. Two months after joining the program, I was given the opportunity to work as a Structural Engineer at Baltic Power Project. Here, I worked in WTG and FOU packages for technical negotiations on structural and mechanical aspects. I had the opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that the technical matters were aligned with the project requirements. All of this has allowed me to apply my knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.
Due to the nature of my project, I get to commute from Denmark to Warsaw mostly every week – hence I have been extremely lucky to get an international team exposure and experience working with diverse tasks. When I am not traveling, I make sure to attend the Graduate Unity initiative run by the company. It has been a crucial aspect of my experience as a Graduate. We, as Graduates, formed a tight-knit group, sharing insights, challenges, and triumphs with one another. The spirit of camaraderie helped us through both personal and professional hurdles and motivated us to perform at our best.
The degree of support from my managers, coworkers, and fellow Graduate colleagues has been exceptional. The managers are approachable, providing valuable guidance and feedback on my work. Colleagues have always been ready to lend a helping hand, making the workplace a positive and conducive environment for growth. During one of the most challenging periods so far when I faced deteriorating health, the support I received from New Power Partners and my colleagues was truly overwhelming and heartwarming. The company’s commitment to its employees’ well-being became evident as soon as I informed them of my situation. I had an opportunity to explore flexible work arrangements, allowing me to focus on my health while still contributing to the team’s efforts.
All the above said, my time as a Graduate at New Power Partners has been transformative. I am excited to complete the Graduate Programme and continue my journey with New Power Partners. In my new position, I look forward to working more closely with the senior team on major projects, taking on greater responsibilities, and contributing to strategic decision-making processes.
