Hi there!
I’m Rifat aka Tanim, a small hobbit all the way from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I did my bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. I’ve lived in my hometown for 25 years, before I decided that I was ready for a new challenge, so I took a leap of faith and headed to Europe to study for my master’s in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment. With a scholarship to help me along the way, I was eager to explore new cultures, cuisines, exotic places and most importantly, learn new languages. The master’s being an Erasmus Mundus master’s, I got to study in three different countries – Scotland, Spain, and France amidst the looming pandemic. Along the way I picked up some Spanish, and a lot of French. I like difficult challenges so now I’m onto Danish.
After my double master’s journey came to a close in September 2022, I joined the ranks of New Power Partners as a proud graduate in October. Going to a new land , in a new working place can seem very intimidating, but from applying for the visa to taking the flight, and settling in a new city, New Power Partners made sure that I have a shoulder to lean on and helped me in every step. I couldn’t have asked for a smoother transition.
In a short span of time, I have made significant progress in acquiring new knowledge and skills. I underwent a 36-hour intensive course in Project Management, which has been a catalyst for my growth and success in New Power Partners’ dynamic project environment. The opportunity to apply my newly acquired skills on diverse and challenging projects has not only been fulfilling but also a continuous source of learning and growth.
Working in a real-world project environment presents unique challenges, requiring me to apply my analytical and problem-solving skills. The projects I work on are both engaging and enjoyable, and I am grateful for the encouraging work culture that allows me to decline tasks that are not in line with my abilities or preferences.

Each month, our team engages in team building activities that foster a strong sense of camaraderie and collaboration among colleagues. The last team building event was particularly noteworthy, as we gathered after work on a Friday for a delightful Italian dinner, followed by a five-hour board gaming session that encouraged friendly competition and allowed us to unwind after a busy week. This perfect blend of work and play created an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere that was both professional and fun.
And, get ready, because the summer is going to be even more epic! We’re already planning something bigger and even more fun, so stay tuned for the wild ride that is team building at New Power Partners. Being a graduate here is a total blast and we promise we’re not stopping.
