We are delighted to share that Baltic Power, the 1100MW offshore wind project in Poland has achieved Financial Close. It is a great achievement and a milestone that we are proud to be a part of by assisting our client, Northland Power Inc. in their Joint Venture with PKN Orlen.

Having a capacity of 1.1GW, the wind farm will be built of 76 Vestas V236 15MW turbines, 23 km offshore on 131 square kilometers.

Our contribution to the Baltic Power Project

Initially, we provided Subject Matter Expert advice for the Transport & Installation and Foundation Scopes along with input to the EIA application whereafter we were pleased to be invited to remain with the Project post the Joint Venture signing.

Here, our colleagues joined the Baltic Power Project team contributing with:

  • WTG package management and engineering
  • WTG installation management
  • Cable package management
  • Project planning
  • Risk management
  • Port and logistic assessments
  • Project Finance

We are proud to be a part of the journey and especially proud of our team of experts who have contributed to the project with the expert knowledge above. Kudos to our experts Nick, Hemashree, Henk-Jan, Georgina, Annika, Liliana, and Monica for the support delivered so far.

Baltic Power will play an important role in helping the Polish government achieve its renewable energy target where the installed capacity of offshore wind energy is expected to reach up to 11 GW by 2040. Ultimately, Baltic Power is expected to supply clean electricity to more than 1.5 million households in Poland annually.
